Pensher Skytech have recently carried out a fire test on both glazed and non glazed blast doors. The
test was to the BS 476 part 22 standard for integrity and stability. A test where the temperature reaches
1000 degrees celsius.
The test passed the 60 minutes with the inclusion of airtight seals, and 120 minutes for a door without
airtight seals.
The photographs below show the test sample before the test, at 60minutes and at 132 minutes. As
the test was limited to the maximum limit of the glazed unit, it can be concluded that a non glazed door
would achieve a much longer resistance.
